Dear ABee, I hate men, but I’m getting a crush on one!

I’ve been enjoying my man-hating journey but have recently met a man who I enjoy spending time with. Please help.

As a self-proclaimed man-hater who also, unfortunately, develops crushes, you can either bite the bullet and go for it or just immediately give up because sometimes it’s better for the mental.

If you go for it, you can be all cute and delusional again. Listening to some corny love song and posting lyrics to your story to be ominous. Or, knowing that on a day when you see him, you dress extra cute and look good...for him. Having someone to fall asleep thinking about, someone to make a playlist for, and probably never showing them. If you hang out, you can act all nonchalant but you probably want to marry them right there. I miss having a crush, really, but at the end of every failed crush, I scold myself.

Not going for it, stopping before it’s too late, and saving yourself the trouble is better for the mental in the long run, assuming it only ends up being a crush. I say, go for it. Crush on the man, listen to corny songs, and get yelled at by your friends for texting him whenever possible.

Life is short, love is pure, and nothing is real. Confess your little crush, or work up to at least. The worst they can do is say no! And if they do, they aren't worth it.

You are loved, reader. Love will find you when you least expect it.
